Facebook currently has reached 1 billion active users,
making it larger than many of the world’s nations and its growing by leaps and
bounds every day.
This online community is the dominating force in social
media by a significant margin. In comparison
to its rivals, Facebook is the most popular site in all regions and its users
are most likely carrying out a range of networking activities.
According to Pew Internet: Social Networking “71 % of online adults use Facebook”.
Social media's platform is so enormous with demographics being extremely diverse, consequently making it an ideal marketing vehicle. In the U.S. alone, more than 50 percent of
users are 26 years old and above… meaning that your marketing efforts can achieve even greater success since these are usually the people who make direct
purchase decisions.
Armed with such information, many businesses are wising-up
to the necessity of integrating social media into their traditional marketing
strategies, which includes Facebook. Regardless whether you are in the B2B or
B2C sector, you can still find Facebook marketing to be valuable.
Both online and off-line marketers are discovering that Facebook can be a very
effective way to generate leads for your business if you use it the right way.
Facebook gives marketers and business owners a powerful tool
which allows you to see how your customers and prospects react and engage with
your content. But first, you must identify your target market, understand their
needs and wants, build a relationship with them and only then attempt to sell
to them.
Consumers aren’t necessarily interested in doing business
with faceless companies that hide behind a logo…especially when they have so
many other choices. On the other hand, they aren't too receptive to being bombarded with ads from small business owners who haven't taken the time to establish a relationship either.
When Facebook marketing is used strategically to
build a database of genuine prospects and generate sales it’s an incredibly beneficial tool to support your business.
Now that you know why you need to show up and be present on
Facebook – let’s get into the nitty gritty of marketing on Facebook and
creating a brand that will have consumers running to you.
To be continued... ways to build and increase your authority
using social media including creating a Facebook Page.
